Everyone sells, but most people are not successful at it. Every time you recommend a restaurant or a movie to a friend you are selling. The problem is, you don't get paid. Here are some suggestions for getting paid for selling. See how many of these tips you are already using. If you are not using all of these tips, chances are you are missing some sales. You may want to put all of these suggestions to work for you. Tell everyone that comes near you about your business including family, friends and neighbors. Send a note to others you know that do not fit into the people above. (Be sure to include former workmates) Record names and collect cards at every place you visit, and leave yours in it's place. (Start a card file) Record something important about the person on the back of the card to refresh your memory of that person. After trade shows, seminars and networking events follow up on all leads. Return all phone calls as soon as possible, to fail to do this will result in a loss of business. Use directories, phone books and online information with numbers to collect names to call. Send thank you notes to everyone for leads, referrals and especially new clients. Find little ways to say thank you to your regular customers. Seek advice from experts in your networking group. They are usually happy to assist you with information. Meet others in your line of work. When either one of you have a job you are unable to fulfill, you can pass it on to the other. Sell to your existing customers, it is easier to sell to existing customers. Offer them backend products, Just make sure it's the right product for your target market. Increase your product's perceived value. You can give away a few bonuses or use famous endorsements on your advertisement. Another way is to offer a sample of your product or a trial of your product or service. If people like it, or it works for them, then that will increase the perceived value because it gives them 100% personal proof. Create a Win-Win situation. Offer your customers or visitors to your website incentives for referrals. Remind your visitors to promote your website, ask them to refer a friend, don't leave anything to chance, ASK! You can give them free books, reports, software and other informational products. You can also offer them discounts on other products you sell. Set goals for each day, don't pick goals out of the air, goals should fill a need. What are your needs? Set your goals to fill your need. Employ self-management techniques. To be successful in sellling you must be a self-starter. Be time conscious don't waste any of your time or abilities. They can not be redeemed. Don't procrastinate. Do the things you hate to do early in the day, early in the month. Get them behindyou then move on to the fun things. Take an interest in your customers, you cannot fake interst, it has to come from inside you. (Remember - we are all in this together) Ask questions and listen. How do you know what a customer wants without asking? You may find out that what you thought your customer wanted is not what he/she wants after all. Face to face contact works best. Telephones, letters and emails are fine, but face to face contact is always the best way to make a sale and build a relationship with your customers. Keep your promises, ALWAYS do what you say you will do. Give your customers more then they expect. Have a sense of humor. Don't take yourself too serious. It is amazing to me how solemn a lot of people are about their business. Let me urge you to lighten up with yourself, your customers, family, business and the way you prospect and sell to your customers.Have fun, you have got to enjoy what you are doing.
